Smart travel to work

The journey to work sometimes begins literally… on the road. Or in this case: on the bus. Anyone who works or studies at the Moerdijk Port and Industrial Area (HIM) knows that accessibility is essential. And yet, for many employees and students, reaching the site safely, efficiently, and sustainably has been a challenge for years.

That's now changed. Thanks to the updated Bus Line 177, an initiative of the Province of North Brabant, Arriva, the Port of Moerdijk, and other partners, HIM is now more accessible than ever. And that's good news for both employers and employees.

Work starts with access

Employers at HIM invest in training, career development, and inclusivity. But if employees struggle to even get to the location, much potential remains untapped. This is especially true for young people without their own transportation, newcomers, or those just entering the job market.

That's why Bus Line 177 is a link in more than just mobility: it's an investment in talent access. Thanks to this line, employees from Zevenbergen, Fijnaart, Klundert, and Moerdijk, among others, can travel to work safely and reliably, without hassle, using a clear timetable, and with stops close to the key companies on the site.

More than transport: a lever for talent development

The "Talent of Today and Tomorrow" pillar revolves around guiding people toward meaningful work. On-site training, hybrid learning environments, internships, and further training are increasingly common at HIM. But all these opportunities fall by the wayside if someone simply can't find the right job.

Bus line 177 removes that physical barrier. Curio students, participants in a Dutch as a Second Language program (NT2), or new employees without a driver's license: they all get a fair chance to grow in their work. The bus is therefore part of the ecosystem that NXT Moerdijk is building: an environment where people have access to work, training, and development.

Access to work isn't just a matter of skills, but also of transportation. This bus line literally opens doors.

Employers: this is what you can do

As an employer, you can help make Bus Line 177 a lasting success:

  • Inform (new) employees about the line through onboarding and employee communication
  • Check whether the stop at your company is optimally positioned
  • Please provide your feedback on the timetable or visit Port of Moerdijk
  • Offer public transport reimbursements or incentives for sustainable travel

Together, we ensure that transport is no longer a barrier, but an opportunity. This way, we continue to build a labor market where learning, working, and traveling go hand in hand.
